This research seeks, through the interpretative resources of one of the greatest and most recognized drummers in the Jazz world, such as Tony Williams, to extract the most relevant phrases from some transcriptions and through a rhythmic analysis, to allow the creation of a system of exercises focused on favoring the independence of bass drum and drummer in the teaching - learning of jazz in the drums. For the analysis, one of the most representative records in jazz was taken, such as Four and More by Miles Davis, where the drums are played by Tony Williams, from which a selection of four songs will be made and with the help of a program to reduce the speed, the transcription of the accompaniment resources that Tony uses, and through an analysis relating them with stickings, will determine the most frequent types of combinations used between bass drum and drummer that will serve as a guide for the creation of the system. exercises. A system of exercises is proposed that allows the development of independence, within the learning of jazz language in the drums, in order to expand possibilities to acquire skills mastering all the exercises correctly in slow time to fast times. Jazz being a genre included in the teaching of the modern school, because its learning and execution goes hand in hand with improvisation, the proposal will allow the student to have tools that foster creativity in the execution of the drums, it will be a contribution that helps in the teaching - learning of jazz comping on the drums, which will help in the motor conditioning of the students. Finally, the conclusions, recommendations, bibliography and annexes, conducive to the investigation are developed.
