Resumen
The objective of the investigation was to determine the in vivo anti-inflammatory activity of the hydroalcoholic extract of the plant species Roupala montana Aubl., By recording the inhibition of carrageenan-induced plantar edema on albino laboratory mice of the BALB /c Mus musculus strain. To obtain the extract, the plant material (leaves) was allowed to macerate in 70% ethanol for 48 hours, followed by which it was concentrated in a rotary evaporator to obtain the dry extract of R montana Audl., Which was subsequently transported in 0.5% carboxymethyl cellulose at three concentration levels 25, 100 and 300 mg/kg. The in vivo analysis was performed by injecting 0.5% carrageenan in the right leg of the experimental individuals to induce inflammation, the analysis of the degree of inflammation was performed with the ImageJ program, calculating the area of the inflamed leg, to subsequently make the statistical study of the data in the MiniTab19 program, applying an ANOVA and the Tukey post-test to verify the existence of significant differences between the treatments. The in vitro tests that were carried out determined in the phytochemical screening the presence of flavonoids, pyrocatechol, and pyroglutamic tannins, triterpenes, quinones that was corroborated with thin layer chromatography the presence of possible five types of flavonoids among them clustering molecules Routine and hyperoxide type. The quantification of flavonoids and phenols showed that the plant has a large amount of these secondary metabolites, as well as a great antioxidant activity. As a result, the three doses used can deflate almost entirely. In 6 hours, the induced plantar edema, the treatment is 700 mg/kg, the six effectives with a percentage of inflammation of 0.7%. It can be concluded that the plant has an anti-inflammatory activity of significant efficacy, so it is recommended to carry out further studies to evaluate the toxicity and other pharmacological activities, for the future development of a medicine.
