Diseño de un modelo de gestión turística para la estación del tren de Ambato, parroquia La Merced, cantón Ambato, provincia de Tungurahua.

Abstract

The present investigation proposes: designing a model of tourism management to remedy the poor planning and management of facilities from the Train station of Ambato, Tungurahua province; built on the situational diagnostic of tourist established by means of a base line by sectors both internal and the environment with their respective variables. And then establish a matrix FODA That made it possible to determine 21 weakness, 34 strengths, 9 opportunity and 6 threats respectively, in addition to having the necessary elements that allow you to have foundations in the decision-making process. Carrying an analysis of demand on the services offered by the train station identifies the potential to develop tourism products, according to their potential in addition to the different aspects to improve, this information has been evaluated and processed by defining the objectives that will enhance the tourist activity in the train station and a planning for compliance with the same through the execution of this model. The tourist management model developed on the basis of the techniques, instruments and tools of strategic planning consists of three elements: The philosophical structure, The strategic axes and the design of the strategy, the same that are encompassed in the design of 11 programs that contain 16 projects, focused on the fulfillment of the strategic objectives established in the management model, With appropriate strategies and taking into account the capacities established by FEEP, With goals that allows their chaining with Social Responsibility. It is concluded that the application of the project is feasible in the interest of improvement and enhancement of the tourist activity, through the use of its tourist resources, It also allows to have an integral organizational direction for the best possible use of its resources in its futures and in the decision making.
