Resumen
The aim of the study was to determine the cumulative absorbed dose in blood to the patients with Differentiated Thyroid Cancer (DTC) requiring Iodine 131 (131I) as a therapeutic modality, in the Hospital of Specialties "Teodoro Maldonado Carbo "(HTMC) IESS - Guayaquil September - March 2018. To do this, a dosimeter application software was designed using the Medical Internal Radiation Dose (MIRD) formalism, calculating the accumulated absorbed dose in blood per unit of tracer activity and the maximum permissible activity of 131I required by a patient suffering from this pathology. The results obtained from the pre-therapeutic dosimetry in blood by the dosimeter application software were 0.2307 ± 0.004 [Gy GBq⁄ ], a value that is within the maximum permissible dose limit for bone marrow and the single activity calculated for the patient was given 234.1873 ± 0.004 [mCi], the maximum permissible value for this type of treatment. This work constitutes an effective computational tool for the development of this type of calculation in CDT patients in different hospital facilities
