Resumen
The objective of this study was to carry out a review of the current state of the art of wild grape to investigate its benefits and the behavior of bioactive principles based on already existing studies in order to establish potential alternatives for the use of wild grape in agribusiness in order to use it more efficiently. In this research, information related to the possible uses of wild grape (Pourouma Cecropiifolia) in the agribusiness considering its bioactive components was collected by searching on the web, in doctoral theses and books to know the potential of the raw material studied. It was possible to recognize that wild grape is a raw material that has not been exploited either at a medicinal or agro-industrial level. Its benefits to human health used to be ignored in spite this fruit, native to the Amazon in many countries, has bioactive compounds which have been studied resulting on countless health privileges for the community. One of the more relevant benefits is the power it possesses to appease cancer cells in different areas of the body, as well as its antitumor capacity, among other benefits. Its most prominent bioactive compounds are flavonoids and polyphenols and, currently, there are studies in which new findings and activities in the bioactivity of Pourouma cecropiifolia stand out. It is concluded that the bioactive compounds that Pourouma cecropiifolia possesses generate benefits for human health, based on which diversity of agro-industrial products can be elaborated. It is recommended to continue researching on the topic to boost the productive matrix of Ecuador and thus be agro-industrial generators of indigenous products of the Amazon and commercialize products that stand out in this research.
