Resumen
The aim of this technical project was to harness excess energy from a hybrid renewable energy system (SHER) for green hydrogen production. The required energy and production potential from solar-photovoltaic and wind energy in Rio Colorado community was determined through data provided from GIDAC research group. To satisfy 606 Wh of daily consumption, the solar module (220W), the wind turbine (400W), the charge controller, batteries, and the inverter were sized and selected. The implementation of sensors and microcontrollers in the system allowed real-time visualization of meteorological data and energy production parameters which were used to estimate the production potential of green hydrogen in a week basis. NPV and IRR were applied to establish the economic feasibility of carrying out the project, in which the social and environmental benefits took sides. The application of a 2^2 factorial experimental design and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) required the construction of a test bank with which it was determined that the loads connected to the system and visible light influence the time the system can deliver energy. Same experiment pointed out the system produces 163 Wh of energy daily, as a surplus that can be used to generate 233 standard liters of green hydrogen. It was concluded that the proposed SHER could provide the energy required by the community. Therefore, it is recommended that stored data in ThingSpeak may serve as the basis in the development of a mathematical model which predicts not only the behavior and interaction of environmental variables but also of energy generation.
