Resumen
The objective of the current degree work was to develop a web system to solve the problem of low efficiency in the generation of academic schedules for teachers through metaheuristic techniques for the Tarqui Millennium Education Unit. The agile SCRUM methodology was used for the planning and development of the system, methods and techniques were established for each one of the proposed objectives, and a sample of four processes was determined for the evaluation of system efficiency. In the planning phase they were identified 15 user stories, 13 technical stories and 19 system sprints. In the development phase the design of the architecture, interfaces, database was carried out, as well as the process of how the genetic algorithms work in the generation of schedules through the processes of initialization, selection, crossing, mutation and recombination until they met with an objective function thus obtaining an academic schedule with the conditions that the educational institution requires. Finally, in the closing phase by means of a Burndown chart the compliance with normal sprints was evidenced. To evaluate the efficiency of the system, the ISO / IEC 9126 standard was used through the sub characteristics of time behavior and resource utilization. The results obtained in terms of times reveal that with the use of the system it is reduced in a 99.12% compared to the manual processes that were previously carried out, thus showing a total efficiency of 93.75% qualifying the system as excellent. In conclusion, the system developed through metaheuristic techniques complies with all the guidelines to generate optimal academic schedules for the teachers of the institution. It is
recommended to make modifications in the algorithm in case new parameters are adopted or it is going to be implemented in another educational institution.
