Resumen
In the Skin Tanning Laboratory of the FCP, it was proposed to evaluate the use of three levels of sodium bisulfite in combination with whitewashing product in the leather tanning process, with 8 repetitions per treatment giving a total of 24 skins goats The experimental units were distributed under a completely randomized design, the applied statistical techniques were: analysis of variance, Kruskall Wallis test and separation of means according to Tukey. The results indicate that when applying 2% sodium bisulfite in the deliming, greater physical resistance of the goat leather is obtained, specifically tension (1824.90 N / cm2), and elastometry (10.37 mm), and that they comply with the quality standards of the (Spanish Association in the Leather Industry, 2002). The sensory weighting infers an excellent rating according to scale (Hidalgo, 2018), for the characteristics of fullness (4.75 points); softness (4.63 points) and roundness (4.75 points). The greatest cost benefit was achieved by using 2% sodium bisulfite in combination with 2% of-scaling product, since the production cost was the US $ 2.39 per foot2, and provides a cost-benefit ratio of 1.32; or a profit of 39 cents, which is very encouraging since the investment and production time is low, therefore the capital recovery is faster. So it is recommended to apply 2% sodium bisulfite for deliming.
