Resumen
The objective of the present study was to design and analyze a roller-crimper to couple to the TKC450 walking tractor owned by the CEFA organization. It was identified the requirements and technical specifications by the growers gathering data in situ to determine the roller geometry and the coupling to the rototiller was designed. It was analytically established the mechanical conditions of the roller-crimper and its coupling to the rototiller applying the theories of mechanical failure that facilitated estimating a priori the geometry and section cross-section of the constituent components. The concurrent design methodology has been used, which starts from a compilation of information on the motorized plough, basic concepts of agriculture maintenance, mechanical design processes, and an analysis of similar machines offered by international companies. The next developed stage consisted of a modular and functional analysis of the roller through which the main functions to be performed were identified and assigned alternative solutions. To use these data to perform a 3D modeling used to simulate the load conditions of the most important elements and validate the developed model. As a final phase, the assembly and workshop plans were made that in the future will serve for the roll construction. Finally, a cost analysis was carried out to evaluate the amount associated with the construction of the proposed roller. Leaving as the main recommendation to carry out the construction of the same in the short term to improve the benefits of the small farmers.
