Resumen
The purpose of the current research project called Design of a tourist Marketing Plan for Puerto Quito County, Pichincha Province during 2017 is to provide strategies that contribute to strength the tourist management in the county. The methodology used was based on surveys through an overt questionnaire for tourists who visit Puerto Quito County as well as a survey for the Tourism Director of GADM. In addition, the SWOT matrix was also carried out, the one which permitted to know the current situation of tourism in the county. Based on the results obtained, it was also possible to determine the need for creating and implementing strategies that allow increasing the tourist demand. According to the situational diagnose of MEFI (Internal Factors Matrix), it resulted in a low internal analysis since it does not have any non-structured tourist-marketing plan, tourist promotion and wrong distribution of the resources, these and other factors make the weaknesses to obtain a low score. The proposal is founded in the reengineering of the brand “County” as well as the creation of G billboards placed along the Ecuadorian roads in order to promote the tourism in the population, and the creation of strategies that will help to promote and reinforce the tourist potential Puerto Quito has. It is recommended for the Municipality as well as the population to implement the tourist marketing strategic plan that contributes to the permanent growth, development and progress of the county.
