Resumen
The objective of this degree work was to evaluate the horizontal and vertical signage within the limits of the following rural parish headwaters of Colta Canton, such as Santiago de Quito, Columbe, Juan de Velasco, and Cañi, to improve pedestrian and vehicular circulation. For the development of this study, it was necessary to determine the technical specifications of road signs detailed in the Ecuadorian Technical Regulation RTE INEN 004 of road signs part 1 and part 2, and consequently to perform an analysis and evaluation of the current situation of the existing signs. Direct observation was made by touring the roads of the rural parish capitals, and at the same time, the condition of the road signs was analyzed and identified. For the present study, we started with the rural parish of Santiago de Quito, followed by the rural parish of Columbe, then the rural parish of Juan de Velasco, and finally the rural parish of Cañi, where we were able to collect data and propose a comprehensive solution to address each situation concretely. Once the technical analysis was carried out it was determined that the rural parochial headwaters belonging to Colta Canton do not have the necessary road signs, thus generating a need for the implementation of 45 vertical signs, and as for horizontal it is necessary to demarcate the roads that meet the requirements of the current technical regulations for road signs. It is recommended that the Directorate of Transit, Land Transportation, and Road Safety implement the vertical and horizontal road signs described in this title study to improve mobility in the rural parish capitals of Canton Colta.
