Resumen
The aim of this project was to implement the maintenance improvement to a drum spray washing system in the Association of Producers and Marketers of Field Eggs, located in the Tungurahua Province, Quero canton, Rumipamba parish, La Esperanza neighborhood, after the technical fault diagnosis, make adaptations or modifications so that this system performs the washing of tubers, standing out in the service of carrot washing. This system was donated by the MAL Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Province of Bolivar, which during two consecutive years did not fulfill the required function of washing tubers, due to the original function was for the citric washing, but given the economic conditions of the association, they were made modifications and adaptations to the system with the purpose to achieve an effective washing of carrot, thus, to carry out the execution of this project it was considered, the beginning of the project, the planning, execution, monitoring and control and closing of the project. An inspection was carried out on the elements, equipment and subsystems that make up the asset, without neglecting the industrial safety, after that it was considered the study of the current conditions of the system, establishing objectives and purposes in order to identify, evaluate, analyze and correct the failures in the least possible time. Therefore, it was completed with the start-up and optimal operation of the carrot washing system with a capacity for four quintals in a time of fifteen minutes, consuming a fluid flow of seventy-seven liters per minute, with a consumption of 16.8 amp current with a power of 3.6kW, improving the system by 50% more. With the implementation of the maintenance improvement to the drum spray washing system, it is guaranteed the available of the asset for the association. It is recommended to the association that manages projects for the treatment and recirculation of water after the washing process, as well as training on industrial safety.
