Resumen
This research work aims at elaborating a strategic plan of the Industrial Engineering career of the Faculty of Mechanics, of Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo, during 2018-2022., seeking to improve the administrative management, in order to carry out the research, information was gathered through meetings of the working group of the institution, an interview conducted to the school director, and the respective surveys applied to the teachers, students, and alumni, in addition the SWOT matrix was made , to determine the current situation of the career, information that permitted to find the following findings:, lack of an adequate organizational structure, it does not have an updated research library, lack of connection with society, lack of tracing to alumni. Based on the situational assessment, it is proposed to consider the mission and vision of the school in order to plan strategies that adjust to the new needs of those directly involved that will help to achieve the traced objectives by means of the elaboration of the annual operation plan that ensures the optimization of the resources assigned by the ESPOCH. It can be said that the inadequate strategic planning in the medium-term and long-term generates deficiencies in terms of administrative management and displeasure of those involved, therefore it is recommended to disseminate, implement and evaluate the compliance with the strategic planning that has been performed for the Industrial Engineering career of the Faculty of Mechanics in order to enhance investigation by fulfilling the quality of students, workers, and teachers.
