Resumen
The present work was carried out at Unidad Académica y de Investigación Bovinos de Leche in the Experimental Station Tunshi, which belongs to the Animal Science Faculty of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo, where the effect of three levels of Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) seeds at 5, 10 and 15% was evaluated in front of a witness (0%), in the Holstein calf feeding. Examining the production parameters: weight gain to the 15, 30, 45, 60 days and feed conversion, it was determined that there was no statistical difference in median of treatments T0, T1, T2 and T3 in its own order with a probability of (P ≤0,05) by implementing a randomized block design with a separation of means through Tukey's test. Nevertheless, it was proved that with the T1 treatment (5%) gave a median of 243,00 kg, in making the economic evaluation it is observed that the highest cost/benefit ratio was obtained with the 5% treatment of Sacha Inchi with the cost of USD 1.38. It is concluded that, despite there are significant differences, the weight gain is not affected by the levels of Sacha Inchi used, it is recommended to evaluate this work in different levels, in different physiological stages of the animals or in the feeding of other species in the zootechnical field and moreover the implementation of an in vivo digestibility test to verify the biological value of the sacha inchi.
