Resumen
Hypoproteinemia as a cause of vulvar edema during pregnancy is an extremely rare complication, which can generate high risks and be a precursor of serious comorbidities. However, an opportune diagnosis and an adequate treatment can lead to a satisfactory evolution. We present the case of a 22-year-old primiparous patient who, in her 37th week of gestation, presented a massive vulvar edema with a state of hypoproteinemia and hypoalbuminemia as the etiological factor. After receiving the treatment, its favourable evolution allowed the termination of the pregnancy spontaneously by vaginal delivery without recurrence or later complications.
