Resumen
A prototype wireless network was implemented for the control and supervision of electronic
laboratory equipment loans from the Faculty of Information Technology and Electronics. The
devices that make up the prototype were selected based on a study of their technical information,
compatibility, cost, the ease of installation and the ease of interaction with the user. The
transmitter module incorporates a PN532 / C1 board, which acts as a reader inducing
electromagnetic waves towards the labels of near field communication (NFC) to obtain its code
and transmit it by radiofrequency. The receiver module is responsible for taking the transmitted
signals and forwards them to a computer through a USB connection. The computer also has a
radio frequency identification (RFID) reader antenna that is responsible for monitoring the
permanence of the equipment in the laboratory. From the performance tests carried out with the
network prototype, an efficiency greater than 80% was determined in relation to the registry
manually and 70% in relation to the registration through the existing software in the laboratory.
From the equipment detection tests without registration, a 100% effectiveness was determined,
which determines reliability in the prototype. The device consists of the transmission modules,
reception and an RFID reader antenna. It has a software, linked to a database and designed in web
pages that stores the information of equipment and the identification of students and facilitates
interaction with users. It has the ability to emit sound warning messages when a device is taken
out of the laboratory without the respective registration. It is advisable to extend the testing period
of the network prototype, in order to identify possible modifications to the proposed design.
