Resumen
The aim of this research was to determine the design of an optical fiber in the urban area of Pelileo town and the legal requirements that authorize an internet service provider (ISP) to provide the triple play service through the optic fiber. Therefore, the current situation of the telecommunication services and their requirements was analyzed from surveys of residential and commercial areas. Subsequently, it was analyzed: the results of previous researches; ITU recommendations; access technologies, the features of the passive optical network (PON), the elements that take part in the PON, the kinds of fibers and their display, the requirements of the bandwidth for the different transmission standards of voice, video and data; the criteria to select the equipment; and the different elements that will be used to display the network. Thus, the design based on the gigabit passive optic network (GPON) is established, network that is fiber (FTTH) in its entirely, which means, it is optic fiber from the ISP to the final user. Due to all of this, the town was divided into zones, analyzing the bandwidth with its corresponding link budget. The estimation of the binary error rate (BER), the Q factor, and the reduction of equipment receiver, which are parameters that delimit the quality of reception, were determined by Optisystemm. The results are revealed to the closest and the most distant user by Eye Diagram. This uncovered a minimum of 12.10 and a maximum of 14.12 in all the Q factor links, numbers that are included in the minimum limits proposed by the ITU.G984.2 recommendation for future implementation.
