Resumen
The objective of this study was to make a technical proposal for the implementation of an agroforestry system in the Carrera farm, therefore, an analysis of the productive system of the farm was carried out, followed by the design of the agroforestry system, to gather the objectives, the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT) matrix was applied to determine the current situation of the farm and, based on the results, implement the agroforestry system. As strengths were found: availability of tools for the implementation of this project, the farm has irrigation water, availability of labor for its implementation. Opportunities: The parish is next to the center, roads in good conditions, there exist flora and fauna typical of the area. Weaknesses: High labor costs, lack of knowledge of product marketing, presence of pests and diseases. Threats: Proximity to the Tungurahua volcano, instability in the country's economy. As a result, it was found that the Carrera farm is suitable for the implementation of the agroforestry system; consequently, the design of the agroforestry system was carried out in 6274.65 m2 destined for its implementation. It is concluded that the agroforestry system based on the SWOT matrix and its climatic conditions will consist of: Four forest species. Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus); Linden (Tilia cordata); Alder (Alnus acuminata); White Quishuar (Buddleja incana). Two fruit species: Blackberry (Rubus glaucus); Tree tomato (Solanum betaceum). Three agricultural species: Potato (Solanum tuberosum); Corn (Zea mays); Bean (Vicia faba). It is recommended to potentiate the agroforestry design proposed in this research through the renewal of short-cycle agricultural crops in order to maintain the dynamism in this productive system.
