Resumen
The objective of this titling work consisted of designing a system of graphic proposals inspired
by the representative orchid species of the city of Piñas, through the abstraction of orchid flowers.
The macro photography was used to keep a record of the ten species of orchids that were selected
with the help of an Environmental Engineer and Taxonomist, as well as a researcher and tour
guide. The selection process was carried out by identifying the most striking features of each
orchid: the shape, the chromatic contrast and the level of knowledge and acceptance that society
has on these species. Later, using the descriptive method of the selected species, a visual analysis
was carried out in the following parameters: geometrization, macro module, repetitive modules,
movement of the modules, design fundamentals, compositional categories and chromatic variety
to arrive at the creation of modules and be applied in different graphic supports. These designs
were made for specific audiences, determined with the help of tourism professionals from the city
of Piñas, through a focus group and taking into account the essential characteristics of the selected
audiences; subsequently, the graphics proposals made were validated. We can conclude that the
geometrization and abstraction of orchid species comply with the majority of established
parameters: design fundamentals and compositional categories, resulting in harmony and
proportion in their shapes and colors. It is recommended to continue with the research on orchids
or any cultural manifestation in the city of Piñas taking advantage of the fact that last year Ecuador
was called Country of the Orchids, in this way reliable information will be given for future
generations.
