Resumen
A wastewater treatment system was designed for the "San Jacinto" Dairy Plant, which is located in the Province of Chimborazo in Penipe municipality, which requires compliance with the current environmental standard established in Table 8 "Limits of discharge to the public sewerage system ", Book VI Annex 1, TULSMA Water Resource Environmental Quality Regulations, published in official register Nº387. Wastewater does not meet the parameters established within the standard, the flow measurement was performed, subsequently analyzed allowing the identification of the following parameters out of the permissible limits according to the aforementioned regulations resulting in Oils and Fats, Total Phosphorus, Total Solids, Biochemical Demand of Oxygen and Chemical Demand of Oxygen with the values of 289 mg/L, 54.48 mg/L, 11217 mg/L, 3581 mg/L, 6881 mg/L respectively. Once the operational variables were obtained, the equipments were sized to reduce the contaminants measured, the design was defined which consists of the following a grid system with a number of bars equal to 8 arranged in a channel that will lead the water to the grease and oil trap that will be 1.8 m long, for then to reach an imhoff tank of 2.59 m deep and then go to an anaerobic upstream filter 4 m wide and dry 1,4 m long. The same was validated by final results of characterization of the treated effluent obtaining percentages of removal in the parameters out of the norm of: Oils and fats 85.72%, Total Phosphorus 78.56%, Total Solids 93.84%, Biochemical Oxygen Demand 95,18% and Chemical Oxygen Demand 96.06%. With this we recommend to the plant the implementation of the wastewater treatment system.
