Resumen
The study proposed to evaluate three types of substrates in the asexual propagation of alder (Alnus acuminata, Kunth) in the Inti Daquilema foundation, Riobamba canton, Chimborazo province, with the purpose of helping the communities to improve the soil by planting this specie. This research was carried out in Colta canton with a small implementation of a temporary nursery, where a completely randomized design (CRD) was established, consisting of 3 treatments, 3 replications and a total of 108 experimental units, for which 3 substrates were used: T1 (Black soil 50% + rice husk), T2 (Black soil 100%), T3 (Black soil 50% + humus 25% + rice husk 25%). The variables were evaluated for both the stand and vegetative development: number of plants set, total height, diameter at collar height and number of leaves. The statistical analysis and the separation of means for the data obtained used the Tukey test at 0.05% in the InfoStat software. The results obtained from the statistical analysis indicated that the best treatment during the research was T1 (black soil 50% + rice husk 50%), which reached highly significant values for the percentage of lodging and vegetative development in number of leaves compared to T2 and T3, which obtained low values. It was concluded that T1 (black soil 50% + rice husk 50%) is the best option for asexual propagation of alder (Alnus acuminata, Kunth) because it presented better results in this study. It is recommended to carry out research with a longer time to differentiate the vegetative development of the height and diameter at the height of the neck of the cuttings of these species.
