Resumen
The purpose of the current research was to evaluate the space-time lose of organic carbon as a result of the brick production in Chambo County. For the extraction volume as well as the Total Organic Carbon lose analysis, it was necessary to use satellite images and orthophotos from 2010 to 2019. These were used for projecting the points in the cartographic projection system. In addition, it was possible to evidence that along these years there was a big difference in the soil surface, the agricultural soil was increased in 193,26 ha, the forest soil was reduced in 130,76 ha, while the soil was reduced in 265,72 ha and the extraction was increased in 40,79 ha. The gas emission analysis coming from handmade brick production was carried out using a chimney prototype and a Testo 340 gas meter. It was possible to observe that the carbon monoxide (CO) concentrations were higher at the beginning of the process, and lower as the days go by, while nitrogen monoxide (NO) increased its levels during intermediate days obtaining a high concentration of nitrogen monoxide on the third day; so for the fourth day, the emissions were reduced. ppm concentrations of nitrogen oxides (NOx) are similar to the values of nitrogen monoxide. The CO2 existing values were measured in percentages, without any significant change during the three first days; while in the last day, the reduction was significant. The highest carbon monoxide toxicity occurs because the fuel used starts its combustion process and as production time passes, the value continues to decrease, determining a direct relation between combustion efficiency and CO2 percentages.
