Resumen
This research project aimed to carry out a FEM analysis of an N1 light truck cabin, evaluating its
resistance according to impact tests described in international regulations. To propose a design
destined to be mass-produced in the country. First, three types of N1 class light truck cabs were
modeled, corresponding to vehicles weighing less than 7.5 tons. Searching which is the most
commercialized truck and based on these data, a truck with similar characteristics was drawn in
three dimensions using specialized finite element software. In which the meshing of finite elements,
properties such as type of material and thicknesses were assigned. It was also added all the
simulation boundary conditions such as velocities, contacts, accelerations, masses, inertias among
others. Once the impact tests are completed and validated the results obtained a planimetry of a
truck cabin that is the clearest and most concise possible. With the aim that it can be built in the
country. It is recommended to use the software correctly together with the analysis of results,
since in this way more reliable results will be obtained.
