Resumen
The present case is about a 46-year-old female patient who came for presenting oligoarticular complaints also to perform the physical examination was observed eye and urinary discomfort, which had an infection of gastrointestinal origin 15 days ago so it is decided to perform important complementary tests to arrive with the diagnosis as they are reactants of acute phase which are positive it is decided to perform arthrocentesis obtaining aseptic inflammatory fluid with what we obtain a triad that is reactive arthritis, conjunctivitis and urethritis, laboratory tests are continued to rule out other pathologies that overshadow the frame, which are negative, so the definitive diagnosis was reached of Reiter's syndrome. The symptomatic treatment was based on anti-inflammatory, analgesic and physiotherapy drugs. This case helps us to see the importance of a good anamnesis and physical examination to gather all the necessary information since its diagnosis is clinical and the laboratory tests support to rule out other pathologies and reach the definitive diagnosis. There are traits that influence the prognosis and course of this disease. Despite having an infection as the trigger of the disease, the use of antibiotics is a controversial issue, so that currently the treatment is symptomatic. Although Reiter syndrome is defined as a reactive arthritis, we must bear in mind that not all reactive arthritis corresponds to a Reiter syndrome.
