Modelo logístico de optimización para la empresa All Cargo Transport S.A.

Abstract

There is a close link between trade and transportation, which is why this research is mainly focused on the design of a logistics model to optimize productivity in the company ALLCARGOTRANSPORT S.A., for this study a mixed approach methodology was applied, the qualitative side information was collected regarding the logistics model and related to productivity in transportation, and on the quantitative side statistical data collected through surveys of both workers and customers were obtained. For the model approach, the demand, routing, SCOR distribution (centralized, decentralized) and Cross doking logistic models were analyzed and it was determined that the SCOR model would be the most appropriate to implement in the company. In addition, through the results obtained in the surveys, it was identified that 57.1% of the workers perceive planning as the main activity to be improved, as well as the clients, despite currently indicating a 68.2% level of satisfaction with the company's services, also agree in 71.8% that the logistics processes should be improved. Finally, through the research it was possible to make a proposal for the implementation of the logistics management model, adapting a functional organization chart and the corresponding manuals of the new positions incorporated in order to adequately implement the logistics model.
