Resumen
In the community: Gatazo Grande, from Colta canton, province of Chimborazo, the utilization of 2 treatment was evaluated being T1: alfalfa (75%) + wheat bran (25%) and T2: alfalfa (50%) + Wheat bran (48%) + mineral salts (2%), to be compared, with a control treatment T0 is (Alfalfa 100%), in the guinea pig feeding in the lactation-lactation stage, were used: 54 female guinea pig; of the improved line. . A completely randomized design was applied in a combinatorial arrangement of two factors, with 9 repetitions per treatment and the size of the experimental unit was 1 animal. The experimental results of those guinea pig mothers registered highly significant differences (P <0.01), in the T0 in the variables final weight (1.43 kg), weight gain (0.08), total food consumption (9, 17 kg). In the productive behavior of the guinea pig offspring, they were recorded highly significant in the T2, in the variables: size bait birth (4.17 pups), weight hatchlings birth (0.17 kg), weight bait at birth (0.71 kg), weaning size at weaning (3, 22 offspring), weight at weaning (1, 24 kg). As for the empadre factor system: of 16 and 32 day do not differ significantly (P> 0.05). When evaluating the feeding system in female guinea pig stage of gestation - lactation was the use of T2, obtaining the best results in reproduction, thus surpassing the other treatments under study. The highest profitability was obtained in T2, reaching a benefit / cost of 1.12. By virtue, the use of T2 is recommended, as an alternative source of food in female guinea pig during pregnancy - lactation to obtain a better productive response.
Key words: productive behavior, completely random design (DCA), in combinatorial arrangement of 2 factors, size of the experimental unit (TUE), empadre, gestation.
