Resumen
The aim of this study was to determine the cytology abnormalities of the cervix and vaginal infections from a group of women who were cared at a gynecology and Obstetrics Private clinic. Within the abnormalities analysis, the pap of 1135 patients was tested, from June 2016 to June 2017. Since this was a study purely base done clinic registers it was not necessary the informed consent. In the vaginal infection analysis, the results of 53 women was tested, with an age average from 18 to 73 years. The sample was analyzed in Cool air, KOH, and Gram during June – August 2017 at the INGINOST hospital, in the city of Riobamba. A descriptive statistical analysis was developed and the frequency and percentages of every cytology findings were calculated by means of SPSS v22 and Microsoft Excel programs. The results of abnormalities in epithelial cells were: atypical scaly cells of undetermined meaning (ASC-US) in 27 (2.4%), the included high degree injuries (ASC-H) in 4 (0.4%); intraepithelial scaly injure of low degree (LIE-BG) in 28 (2.5%) and high degree (LIE-AG) in 5 (0.44%); there was a case (0.08%) cervix adenocarcinoma, and the samples were informed according to the Bethesda 2001 criteria. The results of the vaginal infections showed that the vaginal Candidiasis was high in percentage (30%), followed by bacterial vaginosis (11%) and only one patient presented an infection because of trichomonas vaginalis (2%). All in all, it was found that in under 33 years old patients, it stays the LIE-BG and ASC-US, while in over 40 years old patients the LIE-AG, ASCH and adenocarcinoma, also the vaginal infections are not quite prevalent in the studied population. As a recommendation it is necessary to organize, programs, campaigns, speeches, in order to prevent the cervix cancer in vaginal infections.
