Resumen
In the "Shilpalá" Community, Riobamba Canton, Chimborazo province; the efficiency and the time of reinfestation of three commercial anthelmintics were evaluated, it was based on the laboratory diagnosis (Mc Master) as a preventive measure against a high incidence of gastrointestinal parasites in animals, the efficiency of commercial anthelmintics (Mebendazole, Albendazole, and Fenbendazole) were determined at 15, 30 and 45 days after application. We used 30 sheep of different ages, sex, and weight, which were distributed in a DCA with 3 treatments and 10 repetitions, the data were subjected to descriptive statistics analysis. The sheep treated with Mebendazole had an average initial parasitic load of 8601 HPG, at 15 days after application the efficiency of the dewormer was 74.33%; at 30 d 96.48%; and 45 d 74.51%. The sheep treated with Albendazole presented an initial parasitic load of 10055 HPG, the efficacy of the antiparasitic agent after the application was: at 15 d 90.26%; at 30 d 98.25% and at 45 d 87.92%. The sheep treated with Fenbendazole had an average initial load of 7485 HPG, the antiparasitic efficiency after an application was: at 15 d 75%; at 30 d 96.16% and at 45 d 76.56%. No statistical differences were found between the antiparasitic treatments, but in the days of evaluation of the efficiencies, thus obtaining Albendazole with the highest efficiency. The lowest cost corresponds to Albendazole with 2.38 USD per dose. It is recommended to use Albendazole for its high anthelmintic action and for having registered the lowest cost.
