The purpose of the proposed research work is to propose a design of a wastewater treatment plant using an activated sludge system, this water comes from the Municipal Camal of Canton Mejia, the purpose is that the wastewater from the camal is discharged into the sewage system complying with the maximum permissible limit established by the ministerial agreement 097, Book VI. Next, the processes carried out for the design of the wastewater treatment plant for the farm are shown, such as the characteristics of the wastewater at laboratory scale, by knowing the results of the analysis, these being BOD5, COD, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, nitrates, nitrites, settleable solids, total solids, volatile solids, fats and oils, pH, temperature, turbidity, then the dimensions of the WTP were generated, which has: Inlet design, screen, primary settler, grease and oil trap, aeration system, secondary settler and drying bed. The laboratory-scale treatment test using activated sludge showed the sludge rate, which was aerated for 5 days and 24 hours, resulting in an initial COD parameter of 1490 [mg/L] and a final COD of 19 [mg/L], proving that it meets the maximum permissible limit for discharge into the sewage system.
