Resumen
The present investigation consists of analyzing the benefits that have been obtained in Ecuador in exports through the Multiparty Agreement with the European Union, the same one that insists on validity on January 1, 2017.
It is important to highlight that this agreement consists of converting both parties into equal and privileged partners; therefore, it must be an agreement without discrimination. It is about exchanging ideas to strengthen and deepen bilateral relations and generates commitments for economic and social development; it includes issues of tariff exclusion in certain products, sanitary and phytosanitary measures and dispute resolution.
An exchange of goods and services has been developing in more than 200 products, with the EU being the second most important market for Ecuador, which has had a positive effect, since according to the statistics the commercial flow increased by 12% in relation to 2016.
The European Union uses trade agreements in some way to meet standards that meet the needs of consumers, so that the most important variable in a negotiation is consumption, without this variable countries could not be efficient in their production and trade. When negotiating the tariff preferences within this agreement, the trade balance of Ecuador had a surplus, which increased exports. It is known that tariffs are a tribute to every good that crosses borders.
