Resumen
This systematization of research practice experiences described the transformation of the workload of nursing workforce in the covid-19 period. The objective corresponded to analyze the transformation of the physical and mental load of the nursing workforce in the covid-19 period, in a public hospital. The methodology was of historical-dialectical approach. Two data collection techniques were used such as: document review and structured interview with a sample of ten nursing professionals of female gender. The problem was analyzed by breakdown the general concept into dimensions, subdimensions and observable indicators. The research practice adhered to the physical and mental workload; the first, configured by demands of body’s movement, handling and transport of loads and maintenance of body posture; and the second, conformed by demands of job’s requirements and answer’s capacity. With which a theoretical support was identified for: a) the aspects that configure the physical and mental load of work activities, b) the physical and mental load of nursing professionals before covid-19, c) the physical and mental load of nursing workforce during covid-19 and c) the transformation of the physical and mental load of nursing workers during covid-19. The analysis concluded that existed transformations in all the demands of the physical and mental load of the nursing workforce during covid-19. However, not all the aspects that conformed them underwent changes.
