Remote maintenance solutions have produced a change of thought in the
industry which is analyzing how to update its knowledge to get involved in
the change of the production matrix focused on automating its processes
from the cloud. In the present work, an IoT (Internet of Things) platform
will be developed by linking a 3G Ethernet Router for the supervision
and control of industrial processes of intelligent manufacturing in real time
through the cloud, which provides a stable and secure solution for industrial
control networks based on Cloud applications. With this solution it will be
possible to connect remotely and view or act on the status of the devices
that are connected to a machine, as well as modify PLC or HMI programs
without having to travel to the site using industrial communication protocols
MODBUS TCP and MODBUS RTU with interfaces for RS-485, RS-232
peripherals and WAN / LAN port, the information and access to the values
is done in real time and therefore allows us to connect in various modes;
transparent, master and slave. To verify the operation, a didactic module was
designed which incorporates several industrial equipment, which consists of a
PLC, HMI, frequency inverter, energy analyzer and Servo Drive, additionally
a plant was implemented to simulate the temperature of a controlled
heat tunnel through a linear PID control loop (Proportional - Integral -
Derivative). Finally, the results obtained will be analyzed online, checking the
bidirectional connection between equipment, managing to control a process
from anywhere in the world with the possibility of acquiring information,
modifying, resetting and controlling the main variables of the PLC program
remotely.
