Resumen
The Academic Burnout syndrome is a condition of lengthened stress that university learners go through brought about by exposure to hostile and adverse circumstances in the academic context, just a few studies of this phenomenon. Thus, the aim of this present work was to find out the level of burnout syndrome in university students at the time of COVID-19 and how it is related to sociodemographic factors such as age and gender; and with psychological factors including academic self-efficacy and satisfaction with studies. The research approach was quantitative, correlational, non-experimental and transversal through the virtual application of the instruments to a sample of 361 students from a Private University of the Metropolitan District of Quito. Psychometric quality of the applied scales was researched for instance: the (MBI-SS), the (EAPESA) and the (EBSE). In the other hand the association among variables was performed by using Pearson's correlation coefficient. Amid the main findings is that the MBI-SS displays a multidimensional structure, with a suitable internal consistency coefficient (α = .883), 77% of the population reported moderate levels of academic burnout and at last it was realized that this phenomenon is linked significantly with age (r.=.115, p < 0.05), academic self-efficacy (r.=-0,439; p < 0.01) and satisfaction with studies (r.=-0,501; p < 0.01) and with regard to gender, the ANOVA analysis of variance was significant with p. = 0.39 as well.
