Resumen
The educational system has undergone important changes since the COVID-19 pandemic, using the virtual modality for the development of classes. This modality offers technological resources that benefit the learning process, however, not all students are favored, presenting a low academic performance, intuiting that the family environment affects it. From this, the idea of investigating the family environment and its influence on academic performance under the virtual modality was born. The purpose of this work is to analyze the relationship between these elements in the virtual modality in order to know the impact that the family has on the students' grades.
For this, we worked with a descriptive qualitative methodology that allowed us to understand the cause-effect of the phenomenon, detailing situations, contexts and events. Also, an ethnographic method that allowed a direct and participative observation. The data analysis showed that the factors influencing low academic performance in the virtual modality are the lack of autonomous work, lack of supervision and motivation by the family, resulting in bad behavior, absence from classes and poor grades.
So, in the first chapter, the definition of academic performance, low performance and its consequences in student life will be presented. The second chapter will define the family environment, types of families and their academic impact, and the third chapter will inquire about the virtual modality and the education process
