Resumen
The following paper details the design and procedure to develop nonlinear analysis in
SMF (special moment frame), to carry on these analyzes, is required the use of the programs
SAP2000 and Opensees, in which ones the results were obtained, the respective comparison
was made. The first chapters describe the theoretical foundations used to implement the
Nonlinear Static Analysis, its implications, and requirements, after that, using the same
parameters previously mentioned will be used to implement the Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis.
In next chapters the design of the elements required for the realization of this project will be
presented, as well as the layout of the structure is described, the models involved in the analysis,
the materials used for the design of these, and all the required and needed information involved
in the investigation. Because this research involves more than one fundamental design material,
different reviews are carried out, that are essential to ensure that the modeling elements are
adequate. In the modeling section, a very appropriate instructive, will be defined to carry on
with the Static and Dynamic analysis of a Nonlinear type in plane frames, an in-depth analysis
of all data, settings, and design codes needed to generate the models in both Software’s,
SAP2000 and Opensees. After that, the results obtained from the modeling of the plane frames
will be presented, apart from getting satisfactory comparisons, regarding the periods of the
structures, with adequate differentiation percentages, the comparative of acceleration and
displacement graphs were also obtained, therefore the use of other models and design
methodologies, can be optimal and effective in the development and within Civil Engineering.
