Resumen
The present study allows us to analyze
the technical impact on the electrical
system due to the incorporation of power
electronic devices, given that these
elements introduce harmonics to
electrical systems, the inclusions cause
adverse effects both to the operation of
the electrical system and to its elements.
For this purpose, the implementation of
DC motors has been used as loads in a
14-bar model electrical system, which is
used for the analysis of the introduced
harmonic percentages and their
evaluation with the limits allowed by the
IEEE 519 standard regulation on
harmonics. Said analysis provides
information necessary in the design of
passive filters for the mitigation of
harmonic content in the system, made up
of inductive and capacitive reactances
tuned to eliminate harmonic frequencies
other than the fundamental one.
Finally, the analysis is complemented
with aspects related to the correction of
the power factor, in view of the danger of
resonance due to the penetration of nonlinear loads and thus avoid technical
problems associated with the overheating
of the elements, for the purpose of
performing the study uses ATP and
Power Factory simulators – DigSilent.
