Resumen
The purpose of this research work is to show the lifestyle of the inhabitants of "La Sábila", a precinct belonging to the Pimocha parish of the Babahoyo canton. The loss of identity is a factor that affects globally due to technological advances that occur with the passage of time. Belonging to a group is fundamental, we can see it reflected in traditions, customs, ways of living and gastronomy; with globalization there is a tendency to adopt cultures that are foreign to our own. This is why it is important to capture the experiences, stories, customs and first inhabitants of the site so that their roots are not lost and future generations can keep them alive. Farmers are a fundamental part of the development of a society, so their main activity is the cultivation of the soil, crops, animal husbandry and livestock. In "La Sábila" area there is an abundance of corn, rice, soybeans, green bananas and, of course, aloe vera. The montubios that inhabit these lands have multiple qualities that are perceived from the arrival to this sector, the hard work is a very palpable characteristic in them, living in family and what the same land provides them is a pride for those who live here. Strengthening the cultural identity of the Montubio is fundamental, it allows them to have defined values, traditions and culture that define them, meaning that they can be preserved so that new generations can know their roots, history and essence as part of their cultural identity.
