Resumen
The present photoreporting seeks to vindicate and reflect through the use of photography the reality of the punk movement in Quito from 2010 to 2020. Since its beginnings this movement has been marginalized because of its appearance, customs and practices, it has not been given the opportunity for them to expose their ideals, so it is very relevant both culturally and academically the presentation of a photoreporting where you can show the essence of what punk is, in addition to its so-called countercultural practices.
For the collection of information has been made direct field observation in these last 10 years in different concerts, meetings and punk fairs. In addition, interviews have been conducted with musicians, attendees and organizers linked to the movement to know from their reality that represents punk and what their perception of it today.
The Punk movement emerges as a counterproposal to the established order and the hegemonic system, its little importance and lack of empathy towards the working and less privileged class has triggered them to raise their voice of protest and fight for the proliferation of a more just and equitable society for the common good of all.
Currently the stigmatization towards punks has reduced significantly, but it has not been formally presented what their customs and identity are, so it is recommended to visualize the present photoreporting to become aware and know what punk is in the city of Quito.
