Resumen
The entreprenourships in El Salvador are developed in a 60% because of a need (family consumption) and a 37.6% to take advantage of an opportunity. Moreover, the 57.8% of total entreprenourships are managed by women, meanwhile 42.7% are managed by men. Among others factors, this study concludes that an entrepreneurship motivated by an opportunity has more chance to stay in the market and having success than another one motivated by “need”. This conclusion make us realize that our country should develop programs to promote entrepreneurship that take advantage of the market opportunities, so these companies can be positioned and grow in a short and medium term, increasing jobs and national competitivity.
