Resumen
The alert system for emergency vehicles emits radio signals over the carrier frequencies of comercial FM radio stations within the range from 88MHz to 108MHz using software defined radio (SDR). The signals emitted by the system are modulated in frequency and are transmitted via SDR on three different carriers simultaneously: a central frequency and two adjacent frequencies separated at +400KHz and -400KHz. The signals to be transmitted contain an audible warning message and, when they are broadcast on the same carrier frequencies of the commercial radio stations, they interfere in the radio receivers of nearby vehicles, notifying the other drivers of the presence of the emergency vehicle, thus allowing to clear the road in advance, which represents a decrease in the time of arrival of these vehicles to the point where the emergency arises.
