This document presents some formulations used in a load flow study, which have traditionally been developed with power electrical systems. The methods used are Gauss-Seidel, Newton-Raphson, Newton-Raphson Decoupled, Newton-Raphson Decoupled Fast and DC. The different formulations are applied in Matlab and by means of a graphical interface an application is developed that allows to the user to select one of these methods to solve a power flow problem. The results found for a test system show that the application delivers adequate results and in a number of iterations related to each method.
