Agro-tourism is a segment of tourism that looks for development or countryside, the generation of synergies between agriculture production with the environment and the reactivation of ancestral activities of rural areas; although, in Latin America, the agro-tourism has been poor, left behind and not much investigated in spite of the absolute advantages of each country, reinforcing unique landscapes, varied gastronomy, culture of tradition of each town.
Nowadays, Ecuador is working to empower agro-tourism as a source of development of economy in the rural areas of the country; although, there are a few a national wide initiatives. The feasibility of the project to implement an Agro-touristic Complex in the parish of Perucho - Metropolitan District of Quito named KYLLARYby Raquelita to encourage agro-tourism, through visits of the organic production of “La Raquelita” farm, including ecological lodging, food services whit organic productions under the slogan “De la mata a la olla” – “Straight from the farm”, trails, horseback riding, bike riding, watersprings visits, lakes, waterfalls, and other agro-touristic farms including cultural routes called “Ruta Escondida” – “Hidden Routes”, generating chain supply of products that dynamize the family economies and the improvement and optimization of the use of the agriculture soils.
Finally, the Project will generate NPV of USD. 206.300,04, and IRR 72.01 %, which is higher than the weighted average cost of the capital that correspond 16,75%, which represent the positive aspect of the project, being beneficial to invest in its execution.
