Resumen
The purpose of this work is to carry out a journalistic investigation within the communication and cultural branch, where information is collected that allows us to know the Fandango as a cultural representation of the young people of the Peguche community, Otavalo.
The present research is worked from a qualitative perspective, that from participant observation and semi-structured interviews, an approach to three Otavalan families is organized on the knowledge of the ancestral Fandango rhythm, where an investigation and coverage is carried out to acquire information that contributes to the realization of a photo report, the same one that captures the ancestral Kichwa meaning and that evidences the significance of the clothing, instruments, beliefs and traditions.
The Fandango represents a form of cultural expression that commemorates rituality, joy, collaboration and a fundamental piece in traditional Kichwa festivals such as: marriage, new house, wawa wake, wake; it is related to the rebirth of the spirit in animals such as the hummingbird or the butterfly. Therefore, it is concluded that this rhythm and dance carries out a cultural meaning of the Peguche Otavaleña community, while its music points to significance, enhancing the Kichwa customs of our country.
Finally, the photo report narrates the cultural representations of the young Kichwas people from Otava, where it is oriented to learn about the dance and music of the Fandango from its origins to the present, evidencing the cultural changes that young people have increased within the musical rhythm and clothing.
