Resumen
In Ecuador a part of the economically active population lives with some type of disability in which the majority are due to physical problems that include people with amputated members. The use of prostheses has revolutionized the world of disabilities by partially or perhaps returning the mobility that the individual had before the loss of a member, with the help of electronics this improves with the passage of time getting to complement each other for the development of prostheses capable of performing voluntary movements by means of an electrical signal produced by the muscle involved.
In the world market there are companies destined to manufacture “smart” prostheses such as the “Touch Bionics” company located in New York, USA. The technical project stems from the inspiration of the work carried out by this type of companies that seek to merge medicine with current and future technology, achieving natural movements, safety when using products and comfort, returning trust and personal acceptance.
The prototype carried out seeks to highlight that in the country these types of projects are reliable, functional, economical and that they can be developed for an operation similar to that of a normal limb within the capabilities or actions performed by the user.
The programmed algorithm was developed considering that the end user can control the prototype after a simple use training with precise movements having the security of holding objects without fear of throwing them.
