Antimaláricos no Estado do Amapá - Brasil: a qualidade físico-química do difosfato de cloroquina

Abstract

One of the concerns of health authorities of our country is the quality control of medicines offered to population in particular those aimed at neglected diseases such as malaria, (Gatehouse 2797/2012 MS.) conditions of storage, distribution and transportation play a fundamental role in the maintenance of quality standards of these medicines. We evaluated two batches of samples of tablets of chloroquine diphosphate from posts of notification of malaria (PNCM) tree municipal of the State of Amapá and compared their results with your pills stored in Pharmaceutical Supply Center in the capital, the samples were at each site for a period of three months under the same conditions of other existing antimalarial in PNCM. Fulfilled this period samples were collected and transported to the Drugs Control service Lacen-AP, physicochemical analyses were performed using the methods of the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia monograph 5th Edition. The relevance of these analyses is that malaria remains one of the most severe parasitic diseases in the world. According to the World According to the World Health Organization (who), malaria occurs in 99 countries. About 3.3 billion people were at risk of malaria in 2010. Approximately 86% of malaria deaths occur in children under 5 years of of age and most are in sub-Saharan Africa. It is estimated that 40% of the total number of cases of malaria occur in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Nigeria. The estimated incidence of malaria decreased 17% globally between 2000-2010 and the mortality rate for malaria decreased by 26% after increasing prevention and treatment. In Brazil, in the year 2011, the 99.7% of the transmission of malaria concentrated in the Amazon region. The epidemiological frame of malaria in Brazil is of concern in the present day. Although declining, the absolute number of cases in the year of 2008 was still more than 300,000 patients around the country. Of these, 99.7% were transmitted in the Legal Amazon States, composed of the States of Acre, Amazonas, Amapá, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins, comprising 807 municipalities. The stores for medicines in places that were chosen for evaluation require improvements, showed deficiencies in the storage of antimalarials, which may influence the quality of these only a PNM introduced appropriate conditions of storage. All samples of chloroquine presented satisfactory results. One of the problems related to the treatment of malaria's resistance to antimalarials which leads us to continue with the farmacovigilancia of these medications
