dc.description.abstractIn this letter, we analyzed-empirically-the impact of pedestrian traffic in 60-GHz indoor-indoor wireless links. To this end, we emulated access-point-to-user connections at indoor locations. We modeled fade depths and decay/rise time of fades. Our results show larger losses than those reported in the literature on this topic (up to 48 dB). Decay and rise time estimations were in the same order of magnitude than those reported before (tens of milliseconds), and temporal fade durations were in the range 200-300 ms. We also present a simple parametric model based on our empirical data to simulate fade events. These results will be useful for the simulation of millimeter-wave links as well as for link budget analyses.
