Development and implementation of an information system in a chilean public service

Abstract

The objective of this Master’s Final Work (TFM, Trabajo Final de Master) is to develop an information system as a solution to the monitoring, control, improvement and decision making processes for Chile’s National Training and Employment Service (SENCE, Servicio Nacional de Capacitación y Empleo), particularly for the Maule region’s administration service. Improvement proposals include: development of flows for processes and activities; setting-up of an integral control chart for tracing KPIs (key performance indicators); and building-up control graphs for critical procedures within the units of the regional office. Workload and activities databases of all personnel of the region are used, along with a 2016-2017 cadastre, in order to be homologated in other regional offices of the country . This information system is designed to be flexible, autonomous and sustainable in time, regardless of changes and modifications that may occur in the future.
