| dc.description.abstract | The present invention provides methods for treating depression induced by chronic stress in a subject. In one embodiment, the method comprises administering to the subject an effective 25 amount of cotinine or an isomer or racemate thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and an antioxidant (e.g., a composition thereof) so as to decrease depression, thereby treating depression induced by chronic stress in the subject. Additionally provided are pharmaceutical compositions including cotinine or an isomer or racemate thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and an antioxidant and kits. | |
