Resumen
Abstract: The dawning of the Late Palaeozoic glaciations affected faunas of Gondwana and induced endemism. Deposits of that epoch occur in Argentina and Australia, and they yield the oldest record of some endemic taxa. The new bivalve genus Amosius n. gen. described here comes from the lower strata of the Levipustula levis Zone (Serpukhovian) of central Patagonia, where it is associated with the oldest Carboniferous glacial deposits.
