We are witnessing a trend to automatize industrial and daily activities. In this scenario, autonomous robots, which include vehicles and UAVs are becoming used more frequently. These systems consist of many embedded devices to monitor and control the vehicle's activities. The shortage of computational resources of the embedded devices used by robots, such as secondary storage or processor power, are compensated with the use of the cloud. However, many of the devices used in autonomous vehicles lack wireless communication capabilities, which makes it difficult to send information to the cloud provider. Therefore, this paper presents a practical solution for electronic devices capabilities' upgrade by the development of a wireless robot adapter module, allowing communication between devices with wired and wireless protocols. The developed module was tested in an autonomous vehicle. The results of its evaluation are discussed.
